Urban Tribe Property’s goal is to bring tired old properties back to life. We want each property to take back its sense of purpose and belonging in the community through understanding and care. We also want to create warm, welcoming modern homes to meet the needs of today’s generation
Nick Hume is the Owner and Director of Urban Tribe Properties. He grew up in West London, studied at the University of California, Berkeley, moved to Sydney and played water polo for Australia. He returned to the UK to become the first National Performance Director for GB Water Polo in the lead up to London 2012 and coached the National women’s team.
They went on to lead a successful Sports Education business, activating and inspiring young children to become physically active and healthy. At the same time immersing himself in all things property related and, to that end, took a year-long property education course and started investing.
Once the property hook is lodged, there’s no turning back. Those who’ve fallen into this world know that it’s all-consuming. The property rabbit hole led us to buy single BTL’s & HMO’s using options agreements and no money down, then on to redevelopments through assisted sales, which has led to bigger projects of larger commercial conversions repurposing tired old buildings and bringing them back to life.
He’s been very fortunate to experience living in some great cities, be it Berkeley, Bondi or Bristol. The common thread between these three places is the strong sense of identity and connection to the community.
At Urban Tribe, we recognise that places can make a difference. To that end, our goal is to seek out tired and unloved buildings and bring them back to life; with care and attention to make them accessible and useable to meet the needs of today’s generation.

We are looking to offer several key elements

- The name Urban Tribe wants to convey that although we live in large cities and towns you don’t have to be disconnected from your neighbours. You are part of a community and that community can be wholesome and enriching.
